The cosmetic surgery industry has been badly shaken this week when Super Model Linda Evangelista has spoken publically about a lawsuit she has taken against CoolSculpting's parent company, Zeltiq Aesthetics Inc, for $50 million in damages. Linda claims she has been unable to work since the procedures.
Evangelista has apparently been badly affected by PAH (Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia) a rare reaction to cryolipolysis (a.k.a Cool Sculpting).
With this lawsuit humming in the background, it seems a good time to have a fresh look at Cool Sculpting and see what it can offer our community in 2022.
Is CoolSculpting Safe?
Everyone wants to look good, whether it is for a wedding or any other event or even for their daily routine. But what we often fail to do is, try to look good by trying out new and latest beauty trends that might not work for us and can even damage our skin.
In the last couple of years, there has been a rise in the popularity of Cool Sculpting, a new technology that helps you sculpt your body. This technology has proved to be very effective and it is known to remove stubborn fat deposits without having any side effects on your body. So, if you want to get rid of stubborn fat, then CoolSculpting is the best option for you.
What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive and painless treatment that helps you to get rid of stubborn fat and tone up your body. It is an advanced non-surgical method that will help you to sculpt your body into a perfect shape without causing any harm to your skin or any other part of your body.
Coolsculpting uses a cryogenic treatment device where a cold wave is transmitted to the pockets of fat. Cold fat cells die and the body’s own metabolic processes excrete the fat cells naturally. The Coolsculpting treatment has been shown to reduce fat cells by up to 30%.
During a CoolSculpting session, the practitioner places one or two applicators on the targeted area, and most people feel a sucking sensation and intense cold as the machine freezes their fat cells.
This technology works by using low-level energy to freeze the fat cells and it will eventually disappear. So, the best thing about this technology is that it doesn’t cause any damage to your skin or any other part of your body.
What are the benefits of CoolSculpting?
The main reason why people have been attracted to this technology is its effectiveness. You will see an immediate change in your body after just a couple of sessions. Not only this, but you can also see the results after 1 to 2 months, which is the time duration for which you need to continue with the treatment.
CoolSculpting is a very simple and easy process to follow. It will take only 1 hour to complete the treatment. The treatment doesn’t have any downtime and will not leave any scars on your body. In case you have any doubts regarding this technology, then you can ask your dermatologist.
Lunchtime Tweak?
CoolSculpting has been marketed as a ‘lunchtime procedure that works like a magic mirror to remove unwanted fat. . A single session takes about an hour, and while patients might feel sore or experience bruising, they can typically return directly to their normal lives. Many need multiple sessions. Results kick in within several months.
What is Warmsculpting?
WarmSculpting, or SculpSure, is a non-invasive body contouring treatment that uses hyperthermic lasers to eliminate stubborn, unwanted fat tissue and tighten your skin. The treatment uses an applicator with four paddles. The paddles are attached to the abdomen, flanks, back, thighs, to selectively heat and destroy your unwanted subcutaneous fat cells.
After several days of continuous treatments, Warm Sculpting will reduce fat cells, making your skin firmer and giving you a slimmer appearance. Patients are free to resume all normal activities immediately after the procedure.
My Final Thoughts about Coolsculpting
Is CoolSculpting Safe to Use in 2022?
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive procedure that uses cooling technology to freeze the fat cells on your body. The end result is a tighter, more toned body that’s less noticeable than liposuction or other surgical methods.
It has been proven to be effective in reducing stubborn body areas such as the abdomen, thighs, and love handles.
The biggest concern I have with the procedure is that there are some reports of complications. However, it does seem to be effective for most patients.
Undoubtedly new case studies will come out as the Linda Evangelista legal case develops. If you have had a bad experience with Coolsculpting you could check out the Facebook support group https://www.facebook.com/groups/PAHAfterCoolSculpting which has more than 600 members.
